GoodHousekeeping show 2010

I am a huge fan of GoodHousekeeping magazine. I have subscribed it from the the day it came to India, october 2004. (Oct is my birth month too).
The magazine organizes an annual event 'The GoodHousekeeping show' during first week of march since last three years. This is I was fortunate enough to be in Delhi where the event was held. Its a three day event that touches every aspect of woman's life. I has workshops with experts from field like health, family, kids, beauty, cooking etc, celebrity chats plus lotsa games, quizzes and product showcasing stalls.
I attended this show on the last day (how I wish I could have made it on first two days too).
It was such a fun day for me. I attended workshops, won quizzes and got prizes. That includes - skin analysis by ponds experts, kissology personality analysis by Marykay, britannia yummy eatables, a goody bag from Transitions, body fitness analysis and some more. I bought few sterling silver jewelry too.
Then there was chat show on beauty by Pond's and the expert panel had : Neelam (yep the lovely bollywood actress and renowned jewelry designer), Renna Dhaka (famous fashion designer) and Dr. Rashmi Shetty (a renowned dermatologist).

I had a gala time there. But best part of the day was meeting Manjira Dutta, the editor of GoodHousekeeping.
She is such a sweetheart. I spotted her  and then went on to congratulate on the great work she and her team is doing. She responded so warm-heartedly. I wanted to take a pic with her. She left what she was doing and obliged me immediately. The first click was not so good.

So she very generously offered another click. We went at a nice, camera friendly spot and the she asked one of her colleague to take our picture. Despite being so occupied with managing the event work, she spend some time with me. What a lady !! She is truly a women of substance.
I love you Manjira :)

I had such a terrific day and fantastic and satisfying 'me time' after sooo long.

Three cheers to GoodHousekeeping team for coming up with such lovely, useful, fun-filled, done at a large scale yet so well organized event.

The Show -Lenka

Here are the lyrics :-

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle

I don’t know where to go

Can’t do it alone I’ve tried

and I don’t know why

Slow it down make it stop

or else my heart is going to pop

‘cuz it’s too much, yeah it’s a lot

to be something I’m not

I’m a fool out of love
‘Coz I just can’t get enough

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle

I don’t know where to go

I can’t do it alone I’ve tried

And I don’t know why

I am just a little girl lost in the moment
I’m so scared but don’t show it

I can’t figure it out

It’s bringing me down I know

I’ve got to let it go

And just enjoy The Show

The sun is hot in the sky
just like a giant spotlight

The people follow the sign

And synchronize in time

It’s a joke nobody knows

They’ve got a ticket to that show …yeah

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle

Life is a maze and love is a riddle

I don’t know where to go

Can’t do it alone I’ve tried

and I don’t know why

I am just a little girl lost in the moment

I’m so scared but I don’t show it

I can’t figure it out

it’s bringing me down I know

I’ve got to let it go

And just enjoy the show

oh oh

Just enjoy the show

oh oh

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle

Life is a maze and love is a riddle

I don’t know where to go

Can’t do it alone I’ve tried

And I don’t know why

I am just a little girl lost in the moment

I’m so scared but I don’t show it

I can’t figure it out

It’s bringing me down I know

I’ve got to let it go

And just enjoy the show

Dum de dum dudum de dum

Just enjoy The Show

Dum de dum dudum de dum

Just enjoy The Show

I want my money back (3x)

Just enjoy The Show

I want my money back (3x)

Just enjoy The Show

I heard a talk from Elizabeth Gilbert on nurturing creative this morning from ted.com.
First thing that came to my mind as soon as this audio visual started on my computer is, she looks so 'normal' just like ordinary people like us. And she was dressed so simple and everything about her appearance was so simple. I could relate to her even more, feeling she is sooo like me.

When I started listening this talk, I found first few minutes were not so engaging (I am very honest here) but as the talk progressed, I was glued to it totally.

The concept, the idea she brought forward here so 'non-science thing' but
I feel it indeed is true.

I call my self a creative person sometimes (for few little things I do) and I myself have felt 'that source' she had mentioned in this talk.
Please listen to this talk to experience yourself what I am trying to say here. And I promise you will not regret these 20 minutes.

Aal izz well

"oh, you are not feeling well ?" says Sonny boy to mum.

Mum, lying in the bed, looks at him and says "yes sweetheart".

He says, "Dont worry, your doctor is here now."

Sonny boy runs to his room, searches through his toy baskets and find the (toy) doctor set.

He comes to mum with Stethoscope on his ears, "breath deeply mommy".

Mum obediently follows him. He says, "you are doing OK, let me do other checkups".

He goes back to his doctor kit again, brings the spatula and says, "open your mouth big mommy".
Mum did so. "wow...its nice", he says.

Then he brings the thermometer from his doctor kit, "Lets see your temperature", and places it in mum's armpit.
"Don't move your arm, lets wait for a while" and then he says "beep beep" and takes out the toy thermometer.

"you need to take the injection", he says.
Mum pretend to be scared.

He brings the toy injection from the doctor kit and press in on mum's hand.
"ouch", mum says.
"I am sorry, it hurts but you will be fine soon", he says.

Then he brings the small medical monitor from the doctor kit and keeps it on the side table of the bed.
"Will you watch TV ? Do you wanna watch "kung fu panda" movie?", He asks his mum.
Mum says,"its kids movie."
"OK then you watch '3 Idiots' movie.", He tells.
"my favorite song will soon come, 'bhaiya aal izz well'...." He smiles.
Mum smiles back brightly and pretend to watch the movie.

"You take rest mommy" he says and goes back to watch his favorite cartoon on (real) TV.

PS :
*boy :- my son Sankalp aka Sunny
*Mum :- me :)
That is the scene from my bedroom this morning. I am down with bad flu so I switched on TV for him and put his favorite cartoon. He watched tv for 2-3 mins and then came to bedroom.
